SSS 17 - Subscribe to this RSS Button

It's Sueblimely Silly Sunday time again.

Have you noticed that Subscribe to Feed buttons are becoming larger and larger on many blogs. I know the theory is that if you place the button in a prominent position towards the top of your sidebar then you are likely to get more subscribers. Now it looks as if that the trend is to try to coax readers to subscribe before even reading the blog; by having the button so large they distract you from the content. (you guessed, I am exaggerating but they are getting bigger).

I remember a time not so long ago when the buttons were like this:

small rss icon

As I do like to keep up with modern trends in the blogging world I thought I would join in. Do you think it large enough?

big rss button width=

PS - The subscribe button in the sidebar will be removed later this week - it does not lead anywhere either. I did not want to take advantage of you by having a working big Subscribe button.

Whewie, Silly Sue, that puppy is huge!

Almost sounds like I'm a poet who don't know it, huh? ~:o)

ROFL Sue
this IS a large one !!!!!
I'm already subscribed to your blogs.....
you'll have to let us know whether the big one works...as far as getting more attention :)

Would you believe I found a bigger one after I had posted this. I should add it to the post. My image does not lead to anything so it is not going to increase my subscriptions. Probably should have linked it but did not want to seem as if the post was done due to that motive.

Watch out Kim, you may have some competition there from the poet above you :-)

I have noticed they are getting bigger and bigger. You should have made it a real feed button and see whether it attracted subscribers or not.

haha Sue
why not put the bigger one on??
I was thinking you could use the image as a background and then people would just HAVE to subscribe...they wouldn't be able to help themselves....sorta like the power of "sueblimal" thoughts and all that :D
LOL ....MA has a unique way with words.......in fact she could invent another language ..I'm sure !!! :o

It is the miniscule little flashing rss button that you can't see that is suebliminally drawing you in to subscribe - except now I have told you it won't work any more :-)

Goldcoaster, I suppose it may have been an interesting experiment to see if it did work if I had made the image linked to the subscribe page.
