I find it reassuring to be reminded of this. I imagine the Googlebot to be a busy little creature and I much prefer to leave him to do his work, rather than bombarding him with techniques imploring him to come and explore my blog. SEO is one aspect of blogging that I find a little tedious and do not talk about much here. Anyway there are zillions of blogs out there dealing with the subject so I will leave happily that up to them.
I will not just rehash what Darren has to say as you can listen to this for yourself - plus he says it so well and it is interesting to see the man and hear the voice behind Pro Blogger; with his wonderful Aussie accent. (he is from my home city of Melbourne).
Darren not only gives sensible advice but being a regular reader of Pro Blogger proves to me that he practices what he preaches very well. If I want authorative trustworthy information about the subject areas he covers then he is my first port of call.

I find that I don't have the time to obsess about page rank (not that I know much on it ) .... I find that I do everything backwards anyway....
maybe one day I will get everything in the right order.. :)
So true. Bloggers often obsess over page rank. Me too have been wondering how Google does the ranking, because I've seen blogs that should have much lower ranking than my own blog but they have much higher ranking - IF considering the content - and that made me wonder but also to stop obsess about it and just carry on with my writing.
Many bloggers stop having fun when blogging and that's a big mistake. If you have fun, it shows.
I also think that many bloggers forget about the commenting, how important it is. Not only to throw in a comment, but to actually think over what to say in the comment. It is difficult, everything is in the risk of sounding like a cliché, but at least trying to reach out with some true feelings.
I think it's a waste of time to hop around blogs commenting as a maniac with empty phrases, it's better to have quality comments, just like the quality blog content :-)
